The Blue Boat team includes two locals, Simone and Sergio, who both have more than twenty years of experience navigating our coasts with a passion for the sea, and Megan, a Californian who fell in love with our territory and has been working in the Cinque Terre tourism sector for more than a decade.
Cinque Terre Land and Sea
Your tour will be hosted an American woman who has lived in the area for more that 10 years and is eager to show you all the ins and outs she has picked up along the way. Departing from La Spezia aboard our private boat guarantees you a safe and comfortable experience while avoiding the lines and crowds of the public ferries.
As we leave La Spezia, we will begin by heading towards the beautiful village of Portovenere, commonly known as the “sixth village of the Cinque Terre” and named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there we will head up the coast towards the Cinque Terre, sailing near the coastline, exploring hidden coves and historical relics that can only be seen by sea aboard a private boat.
From Monterosso to Riomaggiore
We will pass in front of the villages as we make our way to the northernmost village of Monterosso. This tour includes villages stops in Monterosso, Vernazza and Riomaggiore, giving you time to explore and discover what makes these villages so charming. While in Riomaggiore, you will have the option* to meet a local winemaker and tour his breathtaking vineyard. This experience gives you the opportunity to learn about the tradition of the ancient stone walls that characterize the Cinque Terre and allows you to truly appreciate the history of the land. After touring the terrain, we will return to the village for the opportunity to taste a selection of wines carefully chosen by the winemaker himself with the stone walls of his ancient cantina.
After the wine tasting, we will get back on the boat, and cruise back down along the coast for our return to La Spezia.
This is a semi-private tour where you may be paired with other like-minded travelers, however our goal is to make your experience as customizable as possible in that you are free to choose to participate in whichever of the elements you prefer.
* This is an optional element of the tour and it does has an additional fee that is to be paid directly to the winemaker. If you choose not to participate, you will be able to explore the village at your leisure.

Best way to see the Cinque Terre!!
We came from a cruise ship and booked this excursion on our own. Many of our fellow cruisers were stuck taking the crowded trains or ferries. We had a relaxing day on the water with Sebastiano and this was the best decision. Sebastiano was a great captain and guide. He brought us to see all 5 towns of the Cinque Terre while stopping in Vernazza for lunch, which he arranged for us. We also stopped in Portoverne which isn’t part of the Cinque Terre but had a lot of charm and is far less crowded. I would highly suggest working with blue boat tours. Megan was easy to communicate with and always answered our questions quickly. Do yourself a favor when visiting Italy and book with Blue Boat!!

Cinque Terra the best way!
Amazing day that was better than anyone expected. Our captain and crew were Simone and Sarah, complete professionals and unbelievably accommodating. We walked from the cruise terminal to the nearby pier where Sarah met us and led us to a beautiful Tiara motor yacht which was very well appointed and everything very clean. Boat was well appointed, excellent seating areas, cold drinks, and amazing food. This boat had a good private head too so no worries for anyone. We covered more distance than I expected and we were taken past amazing scenery and were able to go swimming at two different spots. The town we were able to tour was accessed by a small tender run by a genuine local guy, he waited for us and brought us back very securely and safely. The small town of Vernazza was amazing, we walked around and saw beautiful shops and scenery and found great things to bring home. Local seafood was tasty and then it was back on the boat for more swimming and then the crew put out an amazing spread of local food while at anchor. After that it was a nice boat ride back to the pier, overall it was about six hours. We all had such a great time! My 16 year old daughter even said that it was possibly the best day trip ever. We have toured, traveled, and cruised all over the world and this is the best so far. Highly recommend! 11/10👍

Traumtour mit dem Boat
Eine rundum gelungene Bootstour zur Cinque Terre. Wir waren insgesamt 5 Personen und hatten die Tour von Deutschland vorab per Email reserviert. Ausgezeichneter Kontakt. Reservierung ohne Anzahlung oder sonstigem vorgenommen. Dann unverhofft ein Upgrade auf das Blue Boat erhalten. 2 Stopps in den Dörfern. Sehr angenehme Besatzung. Getränke und Snacks wurden gereicht. Absolute Weiterempfehlung. Schöner kann man die Dörfer nicht betrachten.

Excellent excursion
We had a beautiful day on this private excursion. The boat was extremely comfortable and meticulously cleaned. The crew were knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent moyen d’explorer les cinque terre!
Bateau très confortable, pilote charmant, à l’écoute, pédagogue. Magnifiques vues depuis l’eau et la terre! Nous avons fait trois stops dont deux sur deux villages différents des cinque terre et un stop à Porto Vénère. Entre 45 minutes et une heure de temps à chaque halte pour visiter. Nous sommes partis de La Spezia à 10h30 pour un retour a 16h30, ce qui correspond à 1/2 journée. 6 heures de bonheur!

Adventure for those in a wheelchair!
This boat tour was so AMAZING and it was the perfect adventure for my mother in law in a wheelchair. Although she can walk a little, Europe is a hard place to have a wheelchair. She got to see things without the crowds blocking her view and with those she was travelling with. They provided a wonderful fruit platter and for lunch a charcuterie board with so many flavours known for in Italy. We even had anchovies and mussel, along with bruschetta using the tomatoes and olive oil. A favourite was the cheese that is only made here, it was delightful. Plus we got to snorkel and swim at our own spot by the shore and swim to a cave while our mother in law enjoyed lounging in the boat. It was a fantastic way to explore and see things without the crowds. Plus stopping at 2 of the towns was a highlight. They were so kind to help my mother in law off the boat. Fantastic experience, 12 out of 10!!

Giornata in barca da rifare!!
Consiglio caldamente il servizio offerto da Blue Boat. Il team è molto preparato e disponibile. Durante la richiesta di informazioni e prenotazioni siamo stati supportati in modo impeccabile. Dato che, per quando avevamo richiesto inizialmente la gita in barca, le previsioni del tempo e del mare non erano belle, ci è stato proposto un giorno alternativo. Durante l'escursione siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti di ogni aspetto, dalle spiegazioni fornite sui borghi delle cinque terre al cibo per il pranzo con prodotti freschi e tipici liguri!! How do I book a tour?
Contact us directly and we can provide all the information regarding availability and pricing. Just let us know how many people are in your group and the dates you are interested in, and we’ll take care of the rest!
What happens in the case of bad weather or rough seas?
We will contact you a few days before your tour to touch base. In the case of bad weather or rough seas, we will see if it’s possible to reschedule the tour. If not, we will cancel the tour with no penalty with as much warning as possible.
How far in advance do I need to book my tour?
All of our reservations are booked on a first come, first served method so in order to ensure availability, we suggest you book as soon as you are certain of your travel plans.
What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
We don’t require any type of prepayment, so there are no cancellation fees. We simply ask that you let us know as far in advance as possible in the case that you need to cancel.
Where do we meet the boat?
Upon confirmation, we will send detailed directions based on whether you are arriving by car, train or by foot. All our tours originate from La Spezia, however in certain cases we can make other arrangements. Contact us directly for more information.
Is there parking near where we meet the boat?
There are two large parking lots near the meeting point where our tours depart. Depending on where you are arriving from, we will send you directions to the most convenient option.
